Paytm Payments Bank is a subsidiary of One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm. It was launched in 2017 after receiving approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Paytm Payments Bank allows you to open a savings account with the convenience of digital banking.

How to Open a Paytm Payments Bank Account
Download the App
Start by downloading the Paytm app from your device’s app store.
KYC Process
To open a Paytm Payments Bank account, you’ll need to complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) process. This typically involves providing your Aadhaar card, PAN card, and a passport-sized photograph. Paytm may also require you to visit a nearby KYC center for in-person verification.
Account Activation
After completing the KYC process and submitting the necessary documents, your Paytm Payments Bank account will be activated.
Set Up PIN
You’ll need to set up a 4-digit PIN to access your account securely.
Deposit Money
You can add money to your Paytm Payments Bank account using various methods, such as debit cards, UPI, net banking, or by visiting a Paytm Payment Bank’s partner bank.
Using Your Paytm Payments Bank Account
With your Paytm Payments Bank account, you can make payments, transfer money to other bank accounts, pay bills, shop online, and more, all through the Paytm app or website.
You can also manage and track your account balance, transactions, and savings within the app.
How To Link Bank Account With Paytm
Install the Paytm App
If you haven’t already, download and install the Paytm app from the Google Play Store (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iOS).
Open the Paytm App
Launch the Paytm app on your mobile device.
Log In or Sign Up
If you already have a Paytm account, log in using your registered mobile number and password. If you are a new user, you will need to sign up and create a Paytm account.
Access the Bank Section
Once you are logged in, you’ll see various options on the app’s home screen. Look for an option like Bank or Payments Bank and tap on it.
Add a Bank Account:
- Tap on “Add Bank Account” or a similar option.
- You may be asked to grant permission for the app to access your device’s location, contacts, and SMS. This is for security and verification purposes.
- Provide the necessary details, which may include your bank account number, IFSC code, and your name as it appears in your bank records.
- After entering the required information, tap on the “Proceed” or “Add Account” button.
Verification
Paytm may send an OTP (One-Time Password) to your registered mobile number for verification. Enter this OTP when prompted.
Set Up UPI PIN
If you are linking a bank account for UPI transactions, you will need to set up a UPI PIN. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a UPI PIN. This is typically a 4-6 digit number used to authorize UPI transactions.
Confirmation
Once your bank account is successfully linked, you will receive a confirmation message.
Make Transactions
You can now use your linked bank account to make various transactions through the Paytm app, including recharging your mobile, paying bills, sending money to contacts, and more.
